2015 Alderson Broaddus University Semester in Europe

During the Fall 2015 semester my wife Julie and I were asked to lead the Alderson Broaddus Semester in Europe program based in Salzburg, Austria. This program has been in operation at AB since the 1960s. Students have the opportunity to study and live in Europe for an entire semester. During the semester, they can take advantage of two ten day breaks to travel in Europe and also Thursday through Sunday excursions every week. The program fee covers airfare, a Eurorail pass, and lodging and meal per diems during travel and while living at Haus Wartenberg. More information about the program is provided at the link to the right. Below are some pictures from our time in Europe. This is truly an amazing opportunity that AB offers its students, especially considering the global nature of our modern world.

This course was a 4-credit hour course with a lecture component during the Spring 2015 semester and a field component during the Summer 2015. It was offered as an elective to Environmental Science and Biology majors and focused on field ecology, geology, and physical geography.
